Amber Tasbih OEM

OEM here means what it should mean: you arrive with a specification and we build exactly that. We will tell you where the specification will cause problems, and then we will build what you decided.

Your design
We manufacture to it and do not repurpose it for anyone else.
Production file
Every variable recorded so a reorder matches, years later.
Reserved tooling
Custom profiles held for your programme alone.
Confidentiality
NDAs as standard, with terms restricting internal access on request.
Reserved tooling
Custom profiles and dies are held for your programme rather than returned to general stock.
Physical proofs
Marks and artwork approved in the hand at final size, and retained with the production file.

What we need from you, and what we give back

A workable OEM brief needs profile and dimensions, amber variety and tone reference, bead count, cord and furniture specification, packaging, and any brand mark with placement. A physical reference sample beats every drawing.

What you receive is a production file recording material batch, profile, cord, furniture, packaging and mark placement — the document that makes a reorder in two years match the first run. It is yours, and it is the most valuable thing we hand over.

Where we will argue with your specification

We will push back in three places: when a diameter and a target price cannot coexist without dropping a polishing stage, when a cord specification will not survive daily use for the years the piece is expected to last, and when a mark placement will wear off the exact surface the hand touches most.

We raise these once, clearly, with the alternative. If you have heard the argument and still want the original, we build the original — it is your programme and you may know something about your market that we do not.

The production file, in detail

It records the reserved material batch, the lathe profile with its dimensions and tolerance, cord type and diameter, termination method, furniture specification and finish, packaging construction, mark artwork and placement, and the inspection standard applied. A retained physical reference strand accompanies it.

That document is the reason a reorder in two years matches the first run rather than resembling it. It is yours, it travels with your programme, and it is the single most valuable thing we hand over — more valuable, over the life of a programme, than any price concession we could offer instead.

Scaling a proven specification

Once a specification works, the two most common moves are up in diameter and out into a second tone. Both are straightforward from a recorded file and both are risky from memory. Moving up in diameter changes cord and furniture proportion; moving into a second tone changes selection yield and therefore price, sometimes substantially.

We quote both against the existing file rather than as new development, which is faster and cheaper, and we will tell you when a change that looks small — a tone two shades deeper, say — actually resets the material economics.

Intellectual property, stated plainly

Your design remains yours. We do not register, license or reuse it, and we do not produce it for anyone else. Where we contribute a technical solution to make a design manufacturable — a revised shoulder radius, a different termination — that solution is not a claim on your design and we will not treat it as one.

Conversely, our existing profiles remain ours. A programme built on our Classic profile does not acquire exclusivity over it unless we have agreed a reserved variant, and we say that clearly at the outset rather than leaving an assumption to surface later. Ambiguity here is what produces the arguments that end otherwise good relationships.

For programmes where this matters we put both directions in writing before sampling. It is a short document and it has never yet cost anyone a deal, whereas the absence of one has cost several suppliers in this category their best clients.

What we need to quote accurately

A specification we can price is one where five things are fixed: profile and diameter, material class, bead count, cord and furniture, and packaging. Anything left open becomes an assumption, and an assumption in a quotation is a renegotiation waiting to happen.

Where you do not yet know one of the five, say so and we will quote a range with the variable named rather than pick a value and present a single number. A quotation with a stated unknown is more useful than a precise one built on a guess, and it survives contact with your own internal approval better.

Questions

Amber Tasbih OEM — what buyers ask

Yes. A profile developed for your programme is reserved to it.

Yes, and we prefer it. We will measure it and tell you honestly what it is made of.

We state the concern once with the alternative, then build what you decided.

Yes. It is yours and it travels with your programme, including if you move suppliers. A specification you cannot take with you is a lock-in dressed as a service.

No, unless we agree a reserved variant. We say that at the outset rather than leave an assumption to surface later.

The production file remains yours and we will send it on request. The reserved profile stays reserved for a stated period rather than indefinitely, and we will tell you when that period is ending rather than quietly releasing it. A supplier who treats a dormant client’s profile as available stock is a supplier whose current clients should be worried.
