Amber is the only gem material that is measurably warm in the hand, and the only one whose light appears to originate inside rather than reflect off the surface. Everything we put beside it has to earn the position.

01 — Material
Amber
Fossil resin, thirty to fifty million years old, warm to the touch within seconds of being held.
Amber is the only gem material that is measurably warm in the hand, and the only one with light that appears to originate inside rather than reflect off. It is also soft — 2 to 2.5 on the Mohs scale — which is why the machining parameters matter more than the machine.

- 2.0 – 2.5 Mohs
- Density
- 1.05 – 1.10 g/cm³
- Refractive index

Metal Furniture
Cast, not stamped. Tassel caps, separators, imam sleeves and clasps.
Stamped components are cheaper and always look it — the edges are sharp where they should be soft and the surface has no depth. We cast in brass, 925 sterling silver and gold vermeil, then hand-finish each piece before assembly.

- Process
- Lost-wax casting

Cord & Silk
Hand-braided Japanese silk, waxed cotton, and technical cord for daily use.
The cord is what fails first on a poorly made misbaha. We braid Japanese silk by hand for Luxury Series work and use a technical core with a silk sheath where a piece will be handled daily for years.

One resin, nine answers
What changes between varieties is how much light passes through, how far it travels inside the bead, and what colour it becomes on the way out.
