Our house standard, and the diameter we build sample sets around. 10 mm reads as substantial in the hand without tipping into the deliberate presence of a gifting piece.

Why this is the house standard
Two reasons, and only one of them is aesthetic. The first is that 10 mm sits at the point where amber stops behaving like a small bead and starts showing interior depth — light travels far enough through the body to produce the falloff that makes the material worth choosing over glass.
The second is commercial. It is close enough to the 10–12 mm Gulf volume band to be recognisable there, and close enough to 8 mm to be affordable outside it. A range built at 10 mm ships to more markets without redesign than a range built at any other diameter.
Measured, not asserted
The caliper readings we publish include several in this band — 10.06 mm among them — taken on finished strands with the instrument still on the bead. That is deliberate. A supplier quoting "10 mm" is quoting an intention; a photograph of a caliper reading 10.06 is reporting a result.
Our tolerance on Luxury Series specification is ± 0.05 mm across the full strand. On standard specification it is wider, and we will tell you what it is for your order rather than quote the tightest number we have ever achieved.
What buyers ask about this
± 0.05 mm across the full strand on Luxury Series specification. Standard specification is wider and we state it per order.
It ships to the widest set of markets without redesign, and it is where amber starts showing real interior depth.
Around 165 g of amber. The configurator gives an exact figure per profile.
