Not a marketing word here. It means the cord termination is closed and concealed by hand, the tassel is braided and balanced by hand, and one craftsman assembles the strand start to finish.

What a machine cannot do here
Cord tension. A machine sets the same tension everywhere; a strand needs slightly different tension through the curve than along the straight, or it will not fall true when it hangs. That judgement is why one person assembles the whole strand rather than passing it along a line.
The termination is the other. A concealed, hand-closed termination is the single most common point of failure on a prayer bead strand in its second and third year, and it is the part of the object a buyer cannot inspect at purchase.
The hang test
Every strand is hung from the imam before it leaves the bench and checked for a true fall. It takes seconds and it catches tension problems, an unbalanced tassel and a separator placed a bead out — three faults that are invisible flat on a table and obvious the moment the piece is picked up.
What buyers ask about this
Cord termination closed and concealed by hand, tassel braided and balanced by hand, and one craftsman assembling the whole strand.
Cord tension needs different judgement through the curve than along the straight. A line cannot hold that.
The strand is hung from the imam and checked for true fall. It catches tension, balance and separator placement faults.
